Excell Roofing is based on County Road 2440 outside Hico. Rick started the business and his son Zac roofs alongside him now. "We answer our own phones to better serve our customers" is a line they wrote themselves, and it is the one thing every review keeps coming back to.
How it runs
Two names on every job, not a call centre
Excell Roofing has been putting roofs on Central Texas homes, churches and barns for more than 35 years. It is still Rick Jones and his son Zac Jones running it, and it is still Rick or Zac who picks up when you call, not a dispatcher.
They cover Erath, Bosque, Hamilton, Hill, Comanche and Hood counties out of Hico, working homes, churches, barns, shops and rental portfolios. Residential and commercial, composition shingle and metal, side by side.
Insurance claims work is a real part of the business, not a side line. After a hail or wind storm they walk the roof for a free evaluation, tell you honestly whether the damage is claimable, and hand you references if you want to check them out before signing anything. They are members of the Better Business Bureau.
Their own positioning says it plainly: honesty and integrity, personal attention, quality craftsmanship and friendly service, with the goal of earning a customer's future business rather than just closing the one job in front of them.
